Hello, I want to use my old HDD with VISTA HOME EDITION partition installed on it (CD REPLACEMENT, aka the actual EXE to INSTALL VISTA and not the installed operating system if you know what I mean). On a new homebuilt PC.

Basically I want to use my old HDD so I dont have to buy the software again. Bearing inmind my old Retail Computer had a 32 bit processor and my new one with have 64 bit how will this effect it? WIll vista upgrade to my hardware?

Regards guys, and sorry I cant make it mroe clearer. Basically my olh HDD has VISTA installation files on it on a partition, and I figured if I put my HDD intoa new systema nd reformatt, and run those files will it recognise and adapt to my system?
