I have a desktop computer and a D-Link Fast Ethernet PCI Adpater. With the adapter, can i now connect to a wifi connection? if yes, how?

Solution
If it says it is a "Fast Ethernet Adapter" this implies a wired connection with a max speed of 100Mbit/s. This would not allow you to do wireless. You would need another adapter for that. To check for sure look at the PCI adapter. If it has a place for an ethernet cable and no antenna sticking out then it is for wired connections only.
