Hi all,
My system is an Athlon XP 1600 +, Geforce 2 64 mb DDR video card, 17" Viewsonic Monitor and running Win XP. I have my resolution set to 1024 x 768 and 32 bit color.
My wife says she sees flickering on my screen compared to her notebook and bothers her whenever she uses my pc. Is this a refresh rate issue? How can I reduce this flicker.
Btw I don't see this at all. I think her eyes are more sensitive than mine???
Tia for any info.

thats entirely possible yes...
flicker is very subjective.

having used monitors for ages i know what to look for, and for me, anything under 75Hz is completely unacceptable. 85Hz or greater is my personal prefrence.

other factors also come into play.
a low refresh rate is more noticable if u just start using one, or used a nonflicker screen before, and if you have fluorescent light.
fluro lights run at 50 or 60hz, and can excaserbate the flickering or strobing.

in your display settings, under the advanced options, you should be able to ramp up your refresh rate.
(NOTE: make sure your monitor can handle that particular resolution & refresh rate)
