So I bought a GTX 1080 from newegg, and not even half a week in, one day I started my PC, launched Skyrim, my fans instantly revved up and my display went off, I took out my 1080 and put in my old graphics card to make sure that was the problem. And sent the 1080 back to newegg for a new one. My question is, I accidentally forgot the little plastic cover that went into the hdmi port, but all the other little plastic covers were in there. I've heard so many crazy horror stories about peoples RMAs being rejected, I wanted to make sure this small plastic piece wouldn't get me rejected.

They can deny it since you didn't include everything, they might overlook it, but most likely it will be denied

There's nothing...

There's nothing you can do about it now though so there's no sense in worrying about it, worst case, they deny it, you get it back, contact support, explain what happened, they will let you send it in again, this time put the plastic thing in and make sure its all there, send it back in, get the new one

Just takes longer to get it fixed but you should eventually end up with a working 1080

Follow up on this, called customer service to check and they told me as long as the components are in there, for replacements it doesnt matter, returns Im assuming it does, they approved it and changed it to next day shipping!
