Hi, for more than 5 years, I was using a 768p BenQ monitor. Have recently updated to a 900p HP monitor.

Did not have problems with the BenQ. However with the HP, I started getting random headaches... I'm almost sure it's the monitor, as my headaches and feelings of eyestrain only started after the monitor change. Have already lowered the brightness, but does not seem to be enough.

the salesgirl at the shop told me, they might have deliveries of new monitor with "screen protector" which are friendlier to the eyes. Told me I could swap the HP with a monitor that has "screen protector" when they restock.

are these screen protectors effective in reducing eyestrain from looking at monitors? Asking people who have experience on this. thanks.

Solution
don't believe the hype. go in and look at them yourself after they come in and see if they help you.
if it's a different type of screen panel it may make other things like text or colors look worse.
if it's a built-in feature accessible through the monitor's OSD than it may be something worth looking into.

you can also enable the Night Light option in Windows > Settings > Display > Night Light(settings).
this is also supposed to help reduce eye-strain.
