I want to upgrade an old CPU, but I am stuck on which CPUs are actually supported. I am actually using an old Lenovo 3000 H210 PC (model serial number 57094408). The fastest dual-core CPU of that generation is that Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 and it has the the virtualization ability. It also has the same power usage and socket type of the Intel Pentium E2200 that I am currently using for about a decade.

I read two old threads in this forum, but I don't see an explicit answer to what I am expecting for, just more info:

and

After reading this: http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/lenovo-3000-h210-specs
I am wondering if a Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 can work on that motherboard? The problem is the front side bus of 1300 mhz when the motherboard only supports 1066/800 mhz FSB. The fan is okay to hold another 65-watt TDP type of CPU. There had been some people saying that the Lenovo motherboard restricts most CPUs, so that part I am also stuck.

on core 2 duo, getting anything is already hard due to age. All of that might be legacy info.
Find the highest configuration sold on any ebay/amazon archive. this will work, everything else CAN but its imposible to say now, EXCEPT trying.

I would still recommend ANY new stack as even cheapest AMD will be ~3-4 times faster with way more ram, and new features. From what I know ALL amd cpu's will support virtualization. (and all non-K intel)

looking at your current one its ~350% gain
