Do the KZ headphones, for example the EDC Pro, undergo any testing after manufacturing to verify that they do not leave the factory with any construction or performance defects? I ask this because I bought 4 units of the EDC Pro, two units for use and two sealed units for storage backup.

Definitive answer is only from manufacturer itself, whom you may contact.

But overall, that depends on the quality assurance in place. Some hardware (e.g MoBos) are tested individually to make sure they work. Other hardware, there are taken few products off the production line to test if they work. If they do, entire production run is shipped. But when a fault is found, production line is stopped and all devices are then checked. Maybe even recall will be issued once some of the produced products are already sold.

All-in-all, all brand new hardware comes with a warranty for the sole reason, that IF there are manufacturing defects (which even quality assurance didn't find), you can RMA the device and either get it repaired or replaced.

Since if none of the hardware has any manufacturing defect risks - there would be no need to give warranty for them.

Agree with @Aeacus.

"Definitive answer is only from manufacturer itself, whom you may contact."

However, any given manufacturer can only speak to their part in the process and some manufacturers will not be overly forthcoming in their response.

What happens on the production line is not necessary what is believed to be happening up in the corporate boardroom.

And warranties must be carefully read - lots of loopholes to blame the end user.

I will just add the reminder: "Caveat Emptor".....
