[SOLVED] Question re. ABS reliability

Hello,

I am considering a pre-built PC because of the parts shortage. Every time someone helps me by creating a parts list, it seems like half the suggested components are sold out. I understand they are not best value for money, but this is intended to be a stop-gap for a year, after which I intend to sell it used and build something better.

Both of the options I am considering is from ABS, Newegg's in-house brand. Problem is, I often see mixed reviews for other ABS PCs, so I am not sure how to proceed.

The trade-off here would be more money for a better graphics card, but if it's the same manufacturer's parts and built by the same company, the disparity just doesn't make sense.

My questions are:
  1. Is ABS worth the trouble given the warranty and return policy?
  2. Which of these two is best value for money?

Thank you for your help,
-Charles

Generally these type of systems are just bulk products from the same manufacturers--just cheaper since a company is buying them by the truckload and then assembling them cheap, passing on the savings.

It's really no different than any other pre-built aside from not having any proprietary/custom parts. And this makes them pretty good because you can pretty much swap out or change any part you want just like a custom build, upgrading as you need to and where you want to.
