I have a cheapo desktop I bought 2+ years ago for general putzing around. No games. Mostly surfing web, some photoshop, some audio storage, etc.

Power surge other day somehow seems to have killed mobo despite surge protector :( I have a high buzz when power on, doesn't boot, but can hear fans whirring. I haven't even bothered to open it up yet to look, but it seems obvious at this point.

Acer Aspire ATC-780-AMZi5

Anyway, to replace motherboard I cannot find an ACER replacement and am wondering if

1) all intel H110 are exactly the same, doesn't matter which brand?

2) or, how do I find an Acer mobo to purchase? Not obvious to me.

3) Any other ideas/suggestions aside from punting (or, mocking me for purchasing an Acer?

It seems like for ~$75 may be salvageable if I can replace mobo and RAM is good if it turns out it is indeed a fried mobo.
