Alright so I currently have my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my SSD with my current motherboard drivers and everything.

I'm getting new PC parts here later this week to put together, but I have a quick question:

Should I do a fresh install of Windows via a USB2.0 on the SSD once I hook it all up to my new motherboard or can I easily just boot the Windows I have on my SSD now with my new motherboard just fine?

Solution

Assuming your OS is on the SSD, try booting it with ONLY the SSD connected. Either it works, or it doesn't.
If it doesn't, clean install the OS with only the SSD connected. Proceed on from there.

Alright, so I should just hook everything up, SSD/HDD and all, then plug in the USB and install Win7 fresh? Then of course make a folder with GPU drivers, MOBO drivers, etc. onto the USB so I have them to boot once I'm in?
