I believe I'm going to be getting this motherboard. With an i7-3930k CPU.

It is Quad Channel, and I'm wanting to bump up my new build to 16 gigs of RAM, I intend to do a lot of streaming with multiple applications and processes running, if that's relevant at all. Anyways. I checked on their website for compatible RAM, seen here.

According to the MOBO supported standards and that list, I should be able to run DDR3 2400/2133/1866/1600/1333/1066. I'm not really interested in 2400, too expensive. So possibly 2133 or 1866.

So, basic question. Any real... notable differences between 2133 and 1866?

Then, with that in mind, would there be any issues if I used this?

even though that list doesn't list that specifically, but rather lists this specifically?

It looks to me that the top one listed is just two of the bottom one listed. But I'm all confused about it because it says dual channel instead of quad compatible or something like that.

Thanks for any and all information.

For 16GB you'll want a 4x4GB set (1 package), and the QVL on the mobo, like most all QVLs is basically worthless - they don't test the sticks at true freq, rather they just 'test' at the mobos default of 1333 or 1600, see my info thread here:

The sticks you selected should run fine, but if you want a little boost, for $15 more I'd suggest the 2133 GSkill Snipers at CL9

faster, more bandwidth, work very well with your mobo slection and have OC headroom if you do decide to try and kick them up a notch

Appreciate the reply. I want the Vengeance more because they'll match my system build more than the gskill. Otherwise I would absolutely want to go with the gskill, lol. :sarcastic:
