Question regarding RAM increase.

This is a question asked by my friend. He asks what will be the performance impact on newer games such as GTAV with 2 GB ram increase on a 64bit OS? What will be the min FPS increase on 720P resolution, if any?

How much RAM does he currently have and what Graphics Card does he have? The game will always draw on the Video RAM on your Graphics card first and only supplement with the system RAM if there is not enough resources to satisfy the demands of the program in question.

For Gaming 4 GB will definitely reduce the gaming experience, especially in modern games or less optimized games that use a lot of RAM.

8 GB is more than enough for gaming. Anything above 8 GB in all situations is an overkill if all you are doing is gaming.

He has 2 GB RAM and he uses AMD Radeon 6670 DDR5 1GB card. So will he gain fps by increasing the RAM to 2 GB more?

He has 2 GB RAM and runs Gta V on low-Med settings on 1440X900 resolution with 25-35 fps. Will he gain any improvement in fps if he were to increase RAM to 4GB?
