I am wanting to know is 4080 card is good for gaming much better then 3090 play on 4k monitor and also Samsung g9 ultra wide monitor thinking getting MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 16GB GAMING X TRIO Ada Lovelace Graphics Card

The 4080 on average is about 33% faster at 4k and 25% faster at 1440p vs the 3090.

If you want to push your FPS to the near max refresh rate of your G9 you will need a 4090. Overall a G9 with a resolution of 5120x1440 is less than 1M pixels away from 4k so you need equal horsepower to drive that monitor to its highest abilities.

If I went by PCPartPicker, the cheapest RTX 4090 approaches the more expensive RTX 4080s. So depending on where you live and what's available, it might be worth getting the RTX 4090.

To be fair 4080 will do better on this monitor than 3090 don't really need 4090 to get abit extra fps along as my game. Run smoothly. Can't really afford 4090 means have to spend extra on psu
