Hey! I'm writing this post for a friend of mine. He's upgrading his PC (Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB ram and 1050 Ti) and recently bought a used GTX 970 + psu in question combo for 100€. He plans on flipping the GPU to buy a better one, and he's aiming for something as powerful as an RTX 2070. I told him about the questionable reliability of this said power supply, and recommended him to buy a new one instead and to buy a newer GPU in the future. He refuses to do so, saying how the power supply will be good enough for the RTX 2070 seeing as the TDP is only around 220W, and the PSU is 500W (384W on the 12V rail but who cares about that, right?). So I would like to gather your guys' opinion. What do YOU think he should do? Should he buy a new power supply, or do you deem the Xilence XN052 good enough for his rig? (the power supply before upgrading is a 2008 Antec Earthwatts and he says that it can also run his GTX 970, thoughts?)

edit: 2070 TDP is 175W, i was looking at the super
