Hi people

First off I feel I need to mention that english is not my first language, and also that I'm not the most tech-savvy person, but despite that I hope I can given you all the necessary info in an understandable way. 😉

So to get to it. I want to get a new PC, with the main focuse of hardcore gaming. I've choosen to have a company called: "mm-vision" build it for me, since I would wreck it on my own. The first question is, if you think this build would be good, and if the differerent components would work together. I'm not sure about if the power supply would be able to handle the build. Also I would like to know if I maybe could go with something like the "Intel Core i5-7600k" and/or maybe the "ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Strix" graphic card, without loosing too much peformance, compared to the specs mentioned below?

I'm grateful for any assistance you can give!

(Link to the DANISH homepage I would be buying it from: https://www.mm-vision.dk/visiongaming/Monster-gaming-computer)

The specs for the new PC:

Corsair VS650 650W Powersupply

Intel Core i7-7700k (Up to 4.50GHz, 8MB cache) Quadcore

CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 cooler

Corsair H100 240mm Hydro water cooling system

ASUS Z270-P Primer Motherboard

16GB DDR4-3200 Corsair Vengance XMP RAM

Intel 600p 512 m.2 NVMe SSD Solid State Disk

1TB Seagate Barracuda (7200rpm, 6GB/S)

ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG Strix graphic card

High Definition ALC887 Audio Sound Card

Price: $2.170

The build is plenty fast, but it's well past the point of diminishing returns. If you want a computer that fast, you should get a nicer PSU, such as an EVGA G3 or Corsair RMi. If you have room in the budget, also consider the EVGA P2 series.

I would be a bit nervous putting hardware that expensive in a system with a value series power supply.

If you mainly want it for games, it is well balanced, and a rather capable VR build. Stepping down to the 1070 would give up a bit of performance in VR, but you probably wouldn't notice the difference on a monitor. Stepping down to a Core i5 would give up some performance in a few very select games, but most games would not be affected.

Thank you for your reply! You've already helped me a lot. I'll go with the 1070 and the i5 then, since I'm not using it for VR, and don't think I will for the coming years.

Regarding the power supply. The site I mentioned that would be building my PC, does not have any of the ones you mention unfortunately. But they have this one: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139142&cm_re=Corsair_RM750x_750W-_-17-139-142-_-Product - Would this work better?

Here I link to the danish site that builds the PC, and it shows the different ones they have: https://www.mm-vision.dk/hardware/kvalitets-psu-80-plus - I know it's in danish, but can you make out which one would be the best to choose, if the above mentioned isn't the one?:)
