Question Questions about a possibly faulty Geforce GTX 960 and possible new video card

Hello!

I own a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 960 for four years now.
A month ago my computer started to turn off when I played video games. It happened in every few days.
Two days ago it became frequent, several times a day, and sometimes even when I was not using any 3D graphics, For example, at the Windows login screen.
Today it corrupted my windows. After reinstalling the windows, everything seemed to be fine, then it happened again.

I checked the Windows kernel dump, and found this:

I changed the video timeout from 2 to 10 seconds with Nsight Monitor. The result was the same, just the computer waited 10 seconds before shutting down, after the screen froze.

What do you think about it? Did the hardware become faulty?

Or should I buy a different one? In price/performance ratio it was one of the best ones, which I could find at my location, under 350 Euros.

It has two 6+2 PIN PCI Express power connectors. This connectors are the above mentioned "1*8 PIN ones"?

Yeah, those are the same PCI-E/PEG connectors for any GPU. You should be fine. There are no separate 8-PIN PCI-E cables. They all come as a splitter, 6+2 PIN.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-PH67-UD3-B3 (H67 chipset, 2011)
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600 (Sandy Bridge)
RAM: Kingston 2x8GB DDR3-1333
PSU: FPS HEXA+ 500W

I was thinking on a GTX 2060, after second tought. I planned to buy a new configuration in one year.
Could I check somewhere, if this old motherboard is compatible with it?
The last BIOS update for the motherboard is from 2012, so I do not think, that I can count on that one.
