Questions about microsoft word

I didn't know where else to post it, so I will try here.

So until today my microsoft worked perfectly, but now when I click on a document, it just opens microsoft word, no sheet no nothing, just opens the program.
And usually it opens the document i click on, with the text in it.

And I believe it's double work to open microsoft word, when after I have to click "open" to open a saved document.

Anyone who can possible help?

Agreed when you click on a doc to should open the one you choose. Possibly a Windows problem, first try System File Checker
Winkey plus 'X'
Choose Command Prompt (Admin)
Type sfc /scannow then Enter

Meanwhile, if you have the Word link on your Taskbar, try Rt click on the link to see if your recent Word docs are listed, and whether or not the Doc opens correctly if selected...
