I am looking to move our Xfinity modem into a different room. The room has an outlet for the phone line and the coaxial line. The issue I am having is that where our signal comes in, it is connected to a 1:3 splitter which are for two tv's and one for the internet connection. The problem is that we have about 6 unattached cables there for all the different rooms and none of them have a coaxial connector on the end. Is there any suggested way of figuring out which of these 6 cables is the one for the room we want without putting a coaxial connector on each one and testing it? Are there any problems I might have with moving it as far as signal strength coming through the cable? I believe it shouldn't be any different since there are no further splitters that it would go through as far as I know.

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you might have!

Solution
On the end with no "F" fittings, use an wire to short out the center and braid. Screw a short coax cable to the wall in the room and check for a short between the center and outside of the F fitting with an ohm meter. Move the shorting jumper until you either eliminate all the cables or find the right one.
