Alright before I get started I must say that this system is a few years old as I built it in early 2015. Here are my components.
MB: Gigabyte 970a-ud3p
Mem: 8gb Gskill Sniper series
CPU: AMD FX-6300
GPU: GTX 960 G1 Gaming
CPU is oc'ed to 4.4ghz on a Cooler Master Hyper T4 (doesn't get hot at all). GPU is oc'ed to 1575mhz on a moderate fan curve and barely hits 45c.
My question is while observing everything in MSI afterburner while running heaven benchmark, I'm noticing some of the CPU cores bouncing around and some hitting 100% for a split second. Am I bottlenecking somehow?
Another question is after oc'ing my CPU I'm getting a double boot. I've heard this is common on the gigabyte boards but haven't been able to find a solution for it. Anyone happen to know the magic trick to oc'ing the FX without the double boot?
I am planning on upgrading to a Ryzen system whenever I can but at the moment I can't. Just trying to get the most out of this dinosaur while I can. It's been a great machine since I built it, but I'm sure it's getting a bit dated.
