Looking to buy an SSD to make my OS and startup much better. My current specs are
Fx 8350
Asus m5a97 R 2.0
Gskill 16GB Ddr3
1TB Western Digital HDD
r9 295x2
Corsair GS800

Anyway so I have win 8.1 and all my data on my current 1TB.
I would like to buy a 256GB or less SSD with a good reputation (samsung, kingston etc)
Any recommendations. And how would I uninstall win 8.1 from this Hdd? I would like to put 8.1 on the ssd to get it to windows 10. So recommendations and help is appreciated :)

You don't really need to uninstall Windows 8.1 Just swap in the SSD and Re-install Win 8. The other thing you can do is if you can get your used space on your 1TB down well below 256GB you can clone it to the SSD using a program like EaseUS Disk Copy

http://www.easeus.com/disk-copy/

That will allow you to start right back up and use it as it was.

Then (in either case) just set up your old 1TB drive as D and go ahead and delete all of the Windows folders and files.

The 850 EVO is one of the most solid and popular choices. You can't go wrong there.

Excellent Choice.

You realize his choice that we endorsed, the Samsung 850 EVO is the Budget best buy in the first 2 categories....

No need for snooty comments, I tend to agree with you (this place is Power Supply crazy, if it were up to them everyone would be running a 1000G2), but you don't need to throw the bias in without reading it.

I know that your choices agree. Just, the constant power struggle within forums and the upselling is a bit ridiculous, and I wanted to give a credible source before some idiot comes in egging the OP to buy the 850 Pro since the Evo is Sh#t, or recommending another brand for absolutely no reason except fanboing.
