Question Questions about RGB controller

I recently bought a NZXT 510i which already has an RGB controller and 2 RGB strips connected to the controller (the to fans that came with the case are also connected to the controller, they are not RGB). My problem is that the controller uses the USB 3.1 gen 2 to connect to the motherboard, but my motherboard does not have a USB 3.1 gen 2. It's a ASRock AB350M Pro4.

So my question: if I connect my power supply to the controller, will the fans and RGB strips still work? Or do I need to connect them directly to my motherboard for dem to work, because I currently don't have enough money to by a new mobo right now.

My other question: I'm considering on buying a ASRock B450 Steel Legend which has the USB 3.1 gen 2, but is it a good motherboard? I like the look of the board and it's RGB, but what about i's VRAM? Is it alright for a Ryzen 7 2700x?

I'm sorry if there is any bad english, it's not my native language.

Specs:
Ryzen 7 2700x
ASRock AB350M Pro4
G.Skill 3000 16gb
AMD RX 570 8gb
