Questions about upgrading from an i5 4590 to i5 4690k

Do I need to do anything else other than physically replacing the CPU itself? Some people been telling me to clear cmos, update bios. Are these necessary? My motherboard is the MSI SLI Krait edition if that helps. This is my first build ever so I don't have much experience in this area. Thank you.

It should be fine to simply swap out CPUs. As soon as you boot back up, you will be directed to enter BIOs, anyway because it may have noticed a hardware change. But resetting the BIOS to default is unnecessary.
