Question Questions before building a PC

I have some(maybe too many) questions I hope someone can help me with. I want to mention the fact that it's not going to be a gamer's computer, but a regular use pc.

  1. Don't new(er) cases have optical drive anymore(or most of them)? Not needed anymore?
  2. What's better 2x 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM? Is 8 GB of DDR4 enough or is 16 GB better for the future ?
3.Do all cases have reset button or not?It seemed like some cases don't, but it may be a mistake on my side.
4. Is Intel core i3-10100 going to be good for years to come? My current cpu is over 8 years old and works pretty well so far(also i3)
5.Are case coolers enough or at least 1 extra needed?
6.Is there a big difference between Adata Legend 710 SSD and Adata Ultimate SU650? (Just examples)

What other tips do you have or what should I keep my eye out for before it's time to build a pc?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

1| Some do, some don't...actually the majority don't so you need to look for a case with a 5.25" drive bay. The most recent one is the Fractal pop series of cases.
2| What is the make and model of your motherboard?
