questions on desktop wifi and ethernet

ok well my ethernet port on my mono is broken. my ethernet cable worked with another computer. i was wondering if there is a way to fix it or something. what should i do, buy a usb ethernet adapter or or should i go wireless and if so pci or usb? i want the most power but don't want to spend that much on anything 20 bucks or less probably.

Best option when wireless is not essential is to stick with ethernet as it's faster and more stable/reliable than wireless.
You need ethernet connection anyway if ever you want to re-configure your router settings.
You can buy a PCI or PCI-e network card if you have a spare slot to take one.

If you haven't done so already, it would be worth a try to re-install the driver for that Ethernet port.
