Thank you to those who offered advice in my earlier post.
here is the list (should also be able to view on newegg on the public list as "ETERNALELF") although it hasnt posted yet for some reason...

well that should be everything. Hopefully everything looks good and somebody can explain the price difference between those 2 gpu cards to me.
Thank you for your help!

Change the PSU to Corsair 850TX.

Those two GTX 280 cards are factory-overclocked to different levels, that's why they are sold as different products. Either way, forget them. A HD 4890 is cheaper and beats them. If you absolutely want an nVidia card, go with the newer GTX 285.

+1 or even better go with two gtx 275's in SLI seeing how they usually beat out two 4890's in Crossfire while using less power. :)

yea, i was leaving for work and was trying to get this posted in a hurry. I was hoping the public wish list on newegg would post but it still doesnt seem to be working...
Well it should look a bit better up top now at least.
The Corsair 850TX was what i was thinking about, but i decided it might be better to get a modular for cable management purposes. Corsair makes a 1000w modular but i was thinking its way too much seeing as how i was only going to start with one gpu and im not sure when i would be getting a second (it could be quite awhile). Is there another reason you suggest the 850TX other then wattage?

The Corsair 850TX is a firm favourite on the forums, provides ample power for a couple of GPU's with stacks reliability and at a sensible price.

You are quite right in thinking 1000W is too much power.

Just check that you are running a 64bit operating system to make use of the RAM.

Well i was actually thinking about trying windows 7rc. I have heard mostly positive things about it, and if i dont like it well at least it didnt cost anything.

Nice build...good case...
Well the 850TX is a very good option...
But looking at your requirements, I would not suggest that PSU...
The 850W is an overkill for your requirements...
Better of buying the Corsair 750TX or a mod PSU like this...

Actually a high quality 700W PSU like Seasonic, Silverstone,... can also handle the
4890 Crossfire/ GTX 275 SLI...

And few alternatives for the Mobo...

But this would be a good value compared to the others...

And as for the RAM, a suggestion though...
Instead of DDR3 2000 with CAS 9...better off buying this...
DDR3 1600 with CAS 7 and nearly $65 less...And they also overclock well...
But its your choice...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227381

And +1 for both the GTX 275 and HD 4890 over the GTX 280...

Yea, i was kind of up in the air about the memory. I didnt know if it was more important to have memory with good timing or higher speed.

Well if you plan on going this route you mise as just go with a gtx 295. Same thing but takes up only one slot.

I'd also second the ram option noted above. Unless your going for some major overclocking 1600 will be adquite and the tighter timings will benefit you more than the 2000.
