Questions re Eneloop batteries

I ordered a pack of 8 Panasonic Eneloop AA's from Amazon that just arrived today. They were part of a larger order, and when I opened the box the blister pack for the Eneloops was open and several of the batteries were just floating free in the box. They all looked fine. I have a decent charger - a LaCrosse BC 1000. I popped the batteries in and they all show around 1.3 to 1.33 volts.

First question: Would you return them for exchange if the pack is open? Or just trust everything is good if they look OK.

Second: Is 1.3 volts about right for a precharged Eneloop? Should I do a low current discharge \ charge first in the LaCrosse charger?

Thanks

1.3 is just about right for new ones. (I have a stack of eneloops, and a LaCrosse 700)

Return? it depends on exactly what the package looked like. I'd probably keep them.
But Amazon has a very good return policy in the first 30 days, so the choice is yours.

I like the energizer I think with out looking there 21 or 2400 mah I use then for my rc cars for the radio and servos the mah is its service hold up time or run life

so in theory 2450 mha should last longer the a 1600 mah --- . Milliamp Hours. A unit for measuring electric power over time. mAh is commonly used to describe the total amount of energy a battery can store at one time.

I forgot as usafret said 1.3v is the AA rating

seeing as Ni-mh batteries have a rated voltage of 1.2, 1.3 is just fine(and what I would expect).

If you are expecting 1.5+, you will not get them from rechargeable.

I have some Duracell AA's that are re-branded Eneloop batteries. I think they charged to about 1.3 too.

with any battery rechargeable keep you eye on the heat and swelling or crack/splitting of the cells if the charger is not a good one that can auto shut down I have smoked one or two in my time it can be something you don't want to leave too unattended

looks like your charger got some fail safes built in to it - maybe all right with it ?? I do like its got a display ..
