[SOLVED] Questions regarding A-XMP, frequency 1600MHz instead of 3200MHz

Hi.
After a year of having my PC, I realized that my RAM (RAM DDR4 16GB Kit (2x 8) PC4-25600 3200MT/s CL16 SR x8 1.35V Crucial BX Sport LT) has only a speed of 1200MHz.
I realized I could use some A-XMP profiles so I choose Profile 1

Now, according to Task Manager and CPU-Z, my frequency is around 1600MHz.

My motherboard is TOMAHAWK B450 MAX and CPU Ryzen 3600

1. is using A-XMP safe in my case?
2. and why is frequency 1600MHz and not 3200MHz, am I doing something wrong? (EDIT: is it because it is dual channel?)

ddr mean double data rate
1600x2 = 3200

Because the memory controller will transfer data on the rising of the clock signal and the falling of the clock signal, the DRAM 'actual' frequency in your case is 1600 mhz while the 'effective' rate is double that - 3200mhz.

Thank you. Is everything above that I did fine and safe? Is there something I should be careful about? Is this considered as overclocking?

it oc, but should be safe to try. if it doesn't work, you can reset the bios

If it took you a year to notice your ram was running at 2400Mhz I wouldn't bother to OC you won't notice the difference

Does overclocking make the lifespan shorter?

probably last longer then you system being outdated
