Hello! Need to know quickly if this will work:
I'm using Samsung migration software to clone my 840 Evo 250 SSD to a new 850 Pro 256gb SSD. After I clone it, I'll shutdown computer and unplug the 840 and plug the 850 into the same cables the 840 was in. That far I think will work- what about if I want to put in the 840 again, delete everything on it, and use it for other stuff- do I have to do anything before plugging it in again, or can I just plug it in like I would a new hard drive and then delete everything off it?

Wasn't sure if having two identical cloned drives plugged in at the same time would mess anything up.
Thanks!

Solution
OK, so you clone from the 250GB 840 to the 250GB 850 Pro.
All of that which was on the 840 will be on the new 850. OS and applications.

After the cloning operation, disconnect the 840.
Boot upand verify it actually boots from the new 850 Pro.
If so...
Power off, boot again and check the boot order in the BIOS.
850 Pro first
If so, then reconnect the 840, and wipe it.
Thank you for the response. Although I sound like a dummy.. how: "Just verify the new 850 Pro is the only thing in the boot order."?

Also, it might be good to note that my 840 has my OS and programs installed on it (windows 7)
