[SOLVED] Quick Assist

If the malware in question still allows assorted remote desktop apps to run/function (many might be blocked, so will not!), and still allows downloading/running of common anti- malware tools, assuming one's 'virus' is detectable, and if detectable, assuming it can be easily removed....

Then...Possibly....? :)

As to 'who can you trust', you already mentioned it being a friend doing the connection to your computer, right?

As long as you can access internet and still do downloads, do a Defender (now simply called MS Security) scan, then go to:

(download/install/run malwarebytes antimalware)
www.malwarebytes.com

Also at malwarebytes' site, look for/download/run AdwCleaner...

Let the above apps fix anything they find....

Report back if still having issues..and, perhaps tell what the issues are, beyond a vague reference to a 'virus'.... :)
