Quick BIOS question on new build

Hey everyone,

Not sure if this belongs in this section of the forums, but i have a few quick questions.

I have a new build and i haven't installed the OS yet; in fact, i believe the GPU is fried, but these are the messages i get when the computer posts.

BIOS starts and tells me the following:
"SATA is found running at IDE mode!
Setup option is available to set SATA to AHCI mode
Now is IDE mode, the system cannot support Hot Plug
Would you change the mode Y/N ?
Do you want the BIOS to enable this option for you ?
Y:Yes, set SATA to AHCI mode
N: NO, do not show this message again.

this screen shows for 6 seconds; then it jumps to this:
Load Operating System...
Boot from cd/dvd drive
Disk Boot Failure: insert disk and press enter.

how do i respond to the questions and Where do i go from here?

Can you post your spec's so we can see what you have. If you have a SSD for your system hard drive then you want to set AHCI to yes. If you have a conventional hdd you can say no if you want. When you first load your operating system you have to load it from your cd , so that's why it says boot from cd/dvd drive. If it dosn't find the setup files it times out and says Disk boot failure and for you to put in the OS cd and press enter. Why do you think the GPU is fried.

Just make sure to set it to AHCI before you install the OS.

here's what i'm working with:
1. AMD A8-3850
2. Gigabyte GA-A75-UD4H FM1 AMD A75
3. OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W
4. G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3
5. Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16
6. Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB

When i first put everything together, the computer wouldnt start at all; no fans, no hdd spin, no lights. When i took the gpu out, it started right up. I assume that means the GPU is bad? what else could that mean? i already sent it back because i needed to within 30 days.
