Just a thought towards a CPU swap I did with an old board I have, is a Celeron D or a Pentium 4 better? During my tests with the P4 it seemed a little bit more responsive than the CD but I just want to make sure I'm not misjudging it, as I want to put a faster processor in a different computer I recently acquired.

Test board in question: MSI PM8M3-V H

Replacement unit in question: Gateway E2300

Best to take a look at Passmark if you can find both CPU and it should give you a pretty good idea.

Pentium should be better ideally as they are placed above Celerons in terms of product architecture for same generation. But as mentioned above, Passmark can give you a more definitive answer.
