I’m gonna be building a PC, and I’m wonderig if my mobo of choice has on-bord graphics, meaning it can function withougt a GPU still I have the funds to get one. Here’s the model:

ASUS PRIME B350M-E - motherboard - micro ATX - Socket AM4 - AMD B350

My CPU doesn’t have on-bord. It’s a Ryzen 5 1600 so yeah.

Solution
there is no more on board graphics on the motherboard, they have been moved into the CPU. AMD calls these special CPU APU.
however, the only two ryzen based APU are 2200g and 2400g, you could go with a10 am4 socket apu, but the actual CPU performance is very bad.

you could get a 2400g, it's basically a 1500x with slower rx550

Solution
If you are on a strict budget, then the 2200g is a great choice and it wont require a discrete GPU. But even the low-end budget GPUs will perform better in than the 2200g iGPU. So if you budget includes a 1600, then don't even think about the 2200g. GPU prices are finally reasonable. Get a 1600 and pair it with a 580/1060 and you will have a very nice rig.
