Quick Q - CF card types allowed

Hi all,

quick question, I know that SLI can only be down with two exact same cards, but i heard it is possible to CF different types... i.e. a 3870 and a 3850?

Is this true? are there negative consequences to this? i.e. the higher clock has to reduce clock speed to match the lower... etc.

For right now, if you click on the link titled "Combination Options Chart" on this page, you'll see it's pretty much a one-to-one listing with the exception of the the X19x0 series cards (which require one specific CF card).
