So my pc wont boot now, tried every troubleshoot option, upgrading windows, it didnt let me do it, then from desperation even tried fresh install, and it said that windows bla blabla is corrupted or something and i need to use UHKDSK i think so utility. Like I will still try to scan it now, but would it be worth to bring the pc to technician to confirm whats with the pc (that would take awhile)(and I probably need pc running until thursday)(and i was saving for a new phone, but well...) or just buy a new caviar blue hdd and hope it works??

Edit: the current hdd was scraped from old my pc and its about 3 years old

Hey again, Mister Darius!

You won't be able to boot into your Windows from another computer. The operating system is tied to the motherboard, the HDD is just a carrier for the system files. However, you should be able to boot into his OS and check Disk Management to see how YOUR drive appears there.
You can also use the diagnostic tools I've mentioned above to test the drive on this computer. Since you can access your files, better back them up because you might need to re-format the drive (and this would erase all the data on it).

If the diagnostic tests give you a pass, the issue might be with your OS, which again, would require you to format the HDD and do a clean install of Windows.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting...
Hey there, Mister Darius!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with your current WD Caviar Blue. 🙁 I'd strongly recommend you to use WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics instead of CHKDSK to check up on the health and SMART status of the drive. Here's a link to the WD software: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=9E4z3o
Make sure you run the QUICK as well as the EXTENDED tests from the utility.
I'd also suggest you to try using a different SATA cable to plug the HDD with and also try using a different SATA port on the motherboard.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!

Actually current hdd is samsung one. And I left the pc on sleep at night and it turned on, so my parents turned off the electricity so that may have finally killed it but idk. Would write something more but i got2go now

Does these 3rd party apps run, when pc cant boot?

No, unfortunately, Mister Darius!

You'd have to find a DOS version of any HDD diagnostic tool to do the troubleshooting on your computer. This way you'd be able to perform the tests without booting into any OS. (However, you'd still need another computer to create a bootable USB flash drive with the utility)
Or you can simply use the other computer system to plug the HDD and run the diagnostics there.

So I was at my friends house, put my hdd in his pc, turned it on and it automatically started the hdkdsk someting thingy. When finished it was his windows, hut in the Computer folder I could access my stuff, but in C disk like 1 or few files were blue (their names) so idk. As he had limited time, I then tried to boot windows from my hdd, but it was the same situation...
