Want to assign a static IP to my wireless access point but every one I choose doesn't seem to work (I can't seem to get my head around IP range and addresses and everything)

My router's IP address is 10.0.0.1 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

What would work?

Solution
With a subnet of 255.255.255.0 you have everything from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.254 to use. You have 253 addresses to use(because the router takes one.)

Can we get more info about your access point? is it another router? It may need to be connected a certain way to work in your setup. If connected wrong your access point will give out its own IPs and segregate your network.

This is fantastic, thank you. Turns out I was overthinking it.

However, the overiding problem with the access point that caused me to post this still remains... Will start another thread.

Thank again!
