Question Can a broken RAM slot on a Laptop be fixed ?

It seems kind of weird that a RAM slot would go out after a blackout.

But otherwise, it depends on what's really broken. If it's the actual RAM slot, that is technically replaceable. It could also be the RAM stick itself. But if the CPU got damaged, you're not really fixing that.

after the blackout, it won't boot at all. tried power draining technique from googling, nothing.

brought it to a lenovo service center and they found one of the two ram slots is malfunctioning. confirmed it by switching the sticks around.
stick 1 in slot A = notebook booted up
stick 2 in slot A = notebook booted up (but a bit slower than stick 1)
both stick 1 and 2 in slot B = black screen

even tried using sticks they have lying around the shop.

Edit:
The service center suggested that replacing the slot itself is probably impossible and suggested I use a single stick in the working slot, but wanted to ask here for some second opinion.
