Question Quick Question: Can my PSU support this?

Hello everyone!

Quick question here. I am currently using a 3 year old CX550M PSU. I want to buy the PowerColor 5700 XT Red Devil. This card has two 8-pin power connectors.

I've put my rig and a similar version of the 5700 XT into the pcpartpicker link below:

Pcpartpicker says this is fine,using 428W, but many sites are recommending a 600W+ PSU for this card. I don't know what to believe, so I thought it would be safe to ask the experts here, seeing as I haven't fully wrapped my head around what makes one PSU better than another (apart from wattage)
