Question QUICK QUESTION: Do I remove the stock graphene heatsink label before attaching a copper heatsink?

I purchased a new "Team Group" MP44Q M.2 drive which comes with a "graphene label" that acts as a minimal heatsink.

I also purchased a nice copper heatsink to go with it which comes with a stick of thermal compound tape.

QUESTION: Do I remove the graphene label before attaching the copper heatsink? If not, do I apply the thermal tape directly to the label for best contact or do just lay the bare heatsink directly onto the drive?

No, don't remove it. For one you will lose warranty and for two, it's heat conductive, maybe even better than thermal pad. They are usually metal but Graphene is now even better and can substitute even for paste. You still need to use that thermal pad t because it's soft and so can make contact with chips that are not of exact height to contact heat sink surface sufficiently. Another thing to check, that pad is usually covered with a thin protecting film/foil that should be removed prior to installation.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about placing a strip of gooey thermal tape directly to a printed label.
