Hey there, I'm looking to upgrade the memory in my laptops, and was wondering if this bit that I found would be compatible.

I've got a zv6000 (listed in sig) and also a Compaq v5000, both came stock with 512 memory, and I think that's too low.

I'm looking at this memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231118

And was thinking of putting one gig stick in each laptop.

Would that work?

If not... I was told that the second memory slot is located under the keyboard and I have no idea how to get to it... so maybe I could get some help with that...

Either way I need to know if that memory will even work in my laptops.

Thanks 😀

I would crank out an email to G. Skill Tech support and ask. Or you could use a memory configurator like one of these and punch in your laptop.

Looks like your laptops (at least the zv6000) use DDR memory; the link you gave was for DDR2 memory, which is not compatible. BTW, you're likely much better off getting this info direct from the HP support web site -- "what type of memory does my laptop use?" questions are their bread and butter.

Awesome, thanks 😀
