Hello, on Saturday I will be building my gaming rig and I have just recieved my Gigabyte UD3H motherboard :)

Basically I have never built a PC before (first time build 😱) and it came with these black cables, that i'm sure are in-significant, and I don't know what to do with them.

They look like that and I am a bit puzzled. There probably useless to me but I just want to make sure.

Thanks :)

Solution
Those are sata cables....hook them up to your hard drives. :) There will be some connection points on the motherboard that fit them, then plug the other end into the drive.

Edit: sometimes hard drives will come with their own...so you may not need the ones that came with your board.

Oh yes, I see, sorry I thought they only came with the drives 😛 Thanks for the help.

I use the white SATA port on the motherboard for the SSD correct? And one of the black ones for my HDD?

It doesn't matter which color cable you use for which device, sometimes it might be labeled with SATA 3GB/s or 6GB/s. Toms did an article which pretty much stated the cables all work the same as far as transfer speed so really don't worry about it.

You just want to make sure your SSD is connected to the SATA III i.e 6 GB/s port on your motherboard to take full advantage of its speed.

Yeah, sorry I meant the thing on the motherboard, the white box thing where the SATA cables go into. The white is 6GBs so I'll use that for the SSD.

Thanks again, I guess I'll choose best solution I guess now :)
