I have a Asrock Mobo AliveXFire i'm wondering. And Ati' 2900XT comes out monday!! Here's my my problem I have just read that the 2900XT can only compete with the GTS and the GTX. Can a nvidia card work on a Ati chipset?? Or can I use any vid card on any mobo. If so what should i get i'm no fan-boy just want best bang for buck. Also, 2950XTX is slotted for Q3 (Sept). Nividia Now or Ati Later?? Need Opinions??

Yes, an nVidia card will work absolutely fine with ATi chipsets, and vice versa. Both companies stand too much to lose if they force incompatibilities. That being said, Crossfire will work ONLY on ATi chipsets, like yours, and SLi will work ONLY on nVidia chipsets.

The HD 2900XT seems to outperform the 8800GTS, but falls short of the 8800GTX. It seems to be priced reasonably between the two as well. If you have around $400, it's probably your card. A little less will fetch you an 8800GTS 640, while 8800GTS 320's run for $300ish. It really depends on your bugdet.
