Quick Time Problem On Windows Vista

Hello,
I use a Windows Vista 32 bit and installed Quick Time 7.6.9 and it will not operate. Each time I try a message appears stating to please install quicktime properly. I was certain I had done this. What can I do?

Uninstall it, then download a fresh copy and install it.

Also disabling any anti virus, as they might be stopping important bits installing.
