Hi,

I currently have an i5 build from early 2015 with the following specs:

Case: CoolerMaster CM690III
Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth-Z97-MK-II
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690 3.4Ghz
RAM: 16GB CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 1600CL9 (2x8GB)
GFX: ASUS STRIX GTX 1070 8GB OC
Power Supply: CoolerMaster V750 750W (semi-modular) 80+Gold
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB (OS and key programs only)
SSD 2: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (Games)
CPU Cooling: CORSAIR H100i-GTX
OS: Windows 10 Pro

I am right now considering the two main options:

1) Upgrade CPU ONLY to i7-4790K (limited availability) ~US$350

2) Upgrade CPU, MB, RAM and re-install OS (Time-consuming, and more exp)
What I'm considering:
Motherboard: Asus Maximus IX Hero Z270
CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz
RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4-2400 (2x 8GB)

I mainly play FPS games like CS:GO, Overwatch, BF1 and now PUBG and I stream a little, the i5 can't really handle my streaming. I upgraded my GFX from 750Ti to 1070 recently.

I used to be way more in-touch with whats going on in the PC hardware world, but as life has caught up with me, it's hard to keep up to date. So, I wanted to know from you techies out there, what would you do? Should I just wait it out a little longer and do a bigger revamp (including M.2 SSD etc or do you think that the upgrade to i7-4790K will give me another 1-2 years?)

Thanks in advance!
