I want to build a new computer and want it to be as quick as possible. Quick opening programs, quick jumping from one to the other. Just real quick. I have SSD hard drives already. No gaming and just used for normal stuff, internet, quicken, regular everyday use. What's better for that? More threads, higher clock speed. I'l go 32gb of DDR4 ram. Which CPU will do the trick?

Solution
The fastest currently available ssd device will be a Intel optane.
The 900P is a bit pricey, but if this is for a money earning endeavor where performance is king, there is nothing better.

A more normal Samsung 960 PRO will cost half that.

On ram. the important thing is to buy enough to hold your active tasks.
Look at what you have today, and buy a bit more. If you do not today have any hard fault numbers in task manager, your ram size os ok.
My guess is that a 2 x 8gb kit is fine.
Faster is better, but not by so much as you might think. I might guess 3600 speed is about right.

As to the processor, quickness will come from fast single thread performance.
Today, you can...

You don't need much, just a fast SSD and 8gb of RAM is fine, it all comes down to your budget but you don't need to spend a lot.

Something like this would work well.

depending on how many tabs you like to keep you might want 12 or 16 GB of ram.
32 GB is overkill, but if you keep 40 tabs open on chrome take 16 GB ram. All other parts are solid and will work on internet perfectly.

My current system is a i7-2600K 3.4ghz so I want something faster than this. The Hard drives are SSD. I run 4 24" monitors for stock market work too. Just seems like it's time to upgrade and I like a really quick computer. I want something more than what widcard999 described here. Thanks to all for the help.

For general use and basic programs the i7-2600K should be more then fast enough, maybe it's time to get a faster SSD and do a clean install of Windows?

However if you do have money burning a hole in your pocket and you want the absolute fastest CPU (within reason) and M.2 SSD then I'd go with this.

Today, you can best get that in an 8th gen intel processor.
I3-8350Kwith 4 threads, I5-8600K with 6 threads, i7-8700k with 12 threads.
I might think the i5-8600K would do, but if the extra $130 for a I7-8700K is not a bother, go with the i7-8700K; there is nothing better.
All 3 K processors will overclock to the 4.7-5.0 level.
