Quickload Sound Bug

Maybe this is a known but, but most of the time when I quicksave some of
the sounds are gone (i.e. ambient sound, foot steps, conversations, etc.)
Quickload helps here, but it's annoying. Using normal save works on the
other hand (but requires to open up the menu). Well, I hope a patch will
fix this annoyance!

Confirmed. I've run into the same problem. Some of the sounds disappear,
but come back sometime after. Odd, that.

Which would you rather have - all the ambients instantly on? Or none of
the bodies kerplumping/swords clattering onto the ground when you reload?

That always freaks me out.

One nice thing - you don't have to hit your blackjack key when you load
up. It's still ready from before. :) (Yay! I found something positive
to say!)

I find that after I (quick)save, usually the stereo channels get
screwed up (=reversed). (Quick)Loading fixes this, but this is
quite annoying having to be (quick)loading frequently just to
fix the sound channels.

Music/ambient volume is reset after going to the options or saving a game, too. :/

Fortunately there is a way to get rid of it for good: http://tnlc.com/eep/thief.html

I just edited "MusicAndAmbienceVolume=1.0" to 0.0 in default.ini.

Ahhh, I forgot that one! I set the other "VolumeMusic" and "MusicVolume" to 0.

Still, not all the ambient sounds are annoying suspenseful music so, ideally, it would be nice to keep the natural ambient sounds in.

Anyway, thanks. Hope you don't mind me giving you credit for this on my Thief page. 😉
