I recently purchased a SONY VAIO PCV-LX800 Slimtop computer. The CPU is a PIII 800EB with SiS 630 motherboard, 128RAM and a 40GB HD. The CPU fan is VERY noisy. The fan is a Panaflo mounted to a very thin aluminum heatsink. I would like to replace the cooling system as the noise is driving me crazy. I have never had a computer so noisy, it sounds like a hair dryer on high speed. I use my computer mainly for internet, MP3, and database, no games or OC. What would be a good quiet fan for my computer. Remember that it is a Slimtop and thus does not have a lot of room inside. Has anyone heard of fans made by PC Powercooling or the Molex Silent Systems. I noticed that they were never included in any tests. Thanks in advance

look at the elan vital fscug 3. it cools well and has a slim design.

If it has room for it, use the Intel OEM LARGE cooler, as supplied with the 933, as it is not REAL big-it's kind of wide but not very tall, and quiet. Also available at several retailers.
