I have all parts except fans and gpu purchased for my build and am torn on fan options.
My build is in a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M case, using Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 and i5-6600k.
For starting out, I am planning on using two 140s in the front and one in the rear. The case comes stock with a PH-F140SP_BK in the rear.
Originally I was going to do led fans, but based on the lack of pwm led 140mm fans opted not to and will do led lighting later, unless I were to do a fan hub and 3 pin fans. I'd prefer mobo control versus manual, although if there were a 5.25 bay controller that could auto control based on temperature but also allow for manual control that would be an option too(have not seen an option like this, not sure it exists).
Ideally trying to stay as quiet as possible, and hopefully black, although the black and white of the phanteks isn't horrible.
My plan was to go with pwm and utilize the 4 pin headers on the mobo. After doing some reading, I saw where some 140mm pwm fans have been notorious for low rpm ticking/noise. This made me question my decision, and started considering utilizing good 3 pin Dan's and using a hub such as the phanteks pwm hub.
I have also looked at the 2000 rpm Industrial noctuas, however these may be overkill and too loud for my taste not today mention the cost, as well as the noctua redux line which do not come with any accessories. I also looked at the Fractal Design Venturi line.
I'm ideally wanting to do a positive pressure setup.
Need input, as I am ready to build, but am stuck on fan choices, of all things!
Thanks!
