I currently have this ASUS 660ti, but I'm thinking its time to upgrade soon. My PC is basically a HTPC connected to a 1080p TV in my bedroom so my main deciding factors (besides increased performance of course) are the card's noise levels and the heat generated. I use the PC mostly for TV and movies, but I use it for gaming a few times a week as well.
I have a 650 watt PSU and everything is enclosed in a Fractal Define R4 case. I was leaning towards getting a 970, but I've read a few reviews on various 970s but they all appear to be quite a bit louder than my 660 ti.
Price isn't a huge factor, but I'd like to keep it under $400. I'd prefer to stick with Nvidia, but it's not absolutely necessary. Are there any GPUs out there that can offer a significant performance increase without an increase in noise and temperature?
