quiet harddisk

Right now I am having a very noisy HD. If i buy a new quiet one an install windows on that HD instead, would my old one be quieter since it not is the system-Hd if the computer is in ideal?

Is it noisy when you write too it or all the time, if its all the time then no it wont be quieter.
If it is that loud it might be about to die.

It is loudy all the time. But when it is writing it sounds a lot more.
I guess I will get rid of it then.

I wouldn't get rid of it yet, backup your data onto the new drive and just use the old drive for temp storage for downloads or whatever or even run a benchtest until it dies just for fun! :lol:
Then again I have a drive in my test system thats been giving death noises for almost a year now.
