I recently built my first PC, but never invested in a fan. My case and the CPU, are both running stock fans, which turns out to be very loud! I'm looking for a replacement fan for the case, and was wondering if you could replace the CPU fan after it has been installed. Also wondering if it could possibly be the psu producing so much noise?

Thanks in Advance!

Solution
take a look at the "cooler master hyper 212 evo"
you can get these for about 30 bucks and this cooler has already proved itself and is a valuable, popular choice for the fx 8350

comparable cheap to it's cooling capabilities and much more silent it also gives you some headroom for overclocking if you plan to do so in future

Do you know of anything a bit smaller? my case isn't huge so i dont think i would be able to fit that heat sink.

Hi - that case is big enough to install the CM 212. You should even have room to spare.

If you want something smaller anyway, go with something like this;

but, since the better cooler will fit, that's the way I'd go.

right, the case is mentioned in the first comment/original question, my bad

your case will fit the cm hyper 212 evo, this would be my choice

nevertheless, if you want something smaller, the arctic freezer as mentioned above would also be my choice under this circumstances, good call toyftw ,-)
